I’m in Perth for much of the next 2 weeks (my last 2 weeks at work) so won’t have the opportunity to take any Pilbara images. I’m busily preparing for the first overseas trip which is to Manila for the international fireworks comp. Here’s another shot from Skyworks.
With all of the rain recently, the low lying areas and waterways have been transformed into a sea of flouro green with bobbing yellow grass heads. Quite amazing to see. As I was taking some shots this morning, the landscape had a feeling of rebirth and renewal. The areas burnt out by bushfire are now covered in green shoots and life is flourishing.
This rebirth seems to parallel my own experience. I made 2 new year’s resolutions which are seeing some wonderful changes in my life. Firstly I’ll be travelling to new and exciting places – stay tuned. Secondly I committed to not do things that made me really miserable. And so I’ve resigned from my mining engineering job. It’s been quite a long and exhausting process to resign and that’s the reason I’ve been offline at times in January. Of course I will work as an engineer again but I know what’s important to me in a job now. I’m looking forward to the new year and new experiences.
